Bows for Ruby

Last Friday, my friend lost his sweet 7 month old Ruby Jane to a rare liver disease.  She was a fighter, but unfortunately did not make it long enough to find a donor.  You can read her incredible journey on their blog - http://aniandmatttaylor.blogspot.com/.

Through reading Ani's blog I realized just how important organ donation is.  For some reason the idea of someone else having a part of me just seemed so strange. However, if I was placed in a similar situation as the Taylor's praying and hoping for an organ, shouldn't I be willing to give one myself?
If you're aren't already - please sign up to be an organ donor. http://donatelife.net/

Matt & Ani have some incredible friends who are working hard to raise money to help pay for some (hopefully all!) of their medical bills.  I wanted to share a few of the auctions going on right now with you (they  have SUPER cute stuff!  I wish I had a baby girl to buy for right now!)

Also Bows for Ruby has an auction going on right now on their Facebook Page.
I'm excited to announce that Redwood Ranches has donated some items to their auction!
Check them out and bid, bid, bid. :)

Little Miss Maci

Isn't she the cutest ever!  Maci was one of the inspirations for starting Redwood Ranches!  Before she was born her mom asked me to teach her how to make some cute flowers and bows for her to wear. We had so much fun visiting and making them, that we decided we didn't want it to stop even after Maci was born. :)  So, we started Redwood Ranches at the beginning on 2011!

We hope to continue to sharing our creations with you!
Check out our items at the Boulder Creek Drug Store in Boulder Creek, CA and The Little People's Store and Encore Consignment Boutique in Scotts Valley, CA.

Or if you aren't local to SLV check out items listed in our Etsy Shop.  (Use Promo Code FACEBOOKFS for Free Shipping)

Also, all items shown on our Facebook Page are available for purchase and can be shipped.

Rachel: Why I Started Redwood Ranches...

In the fall of 2008 my beautiful little girl Kelsie was born.  Some very kind friends and family threw me baby showers where I was showered with lots of adorable little outfits.  When Kelsie was born she had NO hair, so I bought some little headbands at the store to match her adorable little outfits.  Sadly, the store-bought headbands were tight and left indentations in her soft head.  It made me sad!  Then a good friend made Kelsie a headband with soft nylon and I fell in love...

Soon I was making infant headbands to match every outfit. :)  Kelsie was rarely seen without a big bow on her head.  The thing I loved most was that the soft nylon was so stretchable.  She no longer wears the infant headbands (she is now 2 1/2), but they stretch enough that if she wanted to she could.

When Kelsie was about 4 months I fell in love with big flowers and crocheted headbands.  I loved that they were interchangeable.  At first she just had purple and white crocheted headbands, but all of her flowers worked interchangeably with the headbands.

After about 18 months Kelsie's hair started growing like CRAZY!  Soon she had this dark blonde curly hair that I didn't know how to control.  Then I started making the small-medium flowers, and they worked perfectly!  The non-slip rubber material I attached to each clip held her hair fine hair tightly. I love how some little clip made her crazy, unmanageable hair look super cute.  She is now also moving on to regular headbands.  I had fun making her a custom fancy headband to match her Easter dress which she also was able to wear to her Uncle's wedding.

Here at Redwood Ranches we love making little girls (or grown girls) feel beautiful!  Please leave a message or email us if there is something we can help you out with.  We have products for sale locally at the Boulder Creek Drug Store and at Little People's Store in Scotts Valley, but you can also check out our Etsy Shop.  We are working on adding more items, but can ship to you directly as well.

As you can tell we've been pretty busy lately!  A local kids store has started selling our flowers and sold out within a week!  So, yesterday we had a flower party and created all of these. :)  We're continually making more and more flowers and bows, but they aren't always exactly the same, so if you see something you like please email us or leave a comment here.  The flowers shown here range from $3-$8 plus shipping.

In other news, we've decided to share a promo code for our Etsy shop - Redwood Ranches

Cute?

We always have a fun time trying out some new things.  After my friend Christina asked if we knew how to make a rosette headband for her newborn little girl, we decided to give it a try!  (Christina if you're reading, I'm hoping to head to JoAnn's later this week to get the rest of the supplies to finish off the infant one!)

The headband above is for an older girl, but what do you think?  Is it cute? Does it work?

Sweet Little Flower Girl

I had a last minute custom order for a cute little baby girl whose parents are getting married in June.

Before she was born she was diagnosed with a serious genetic disorder and her mom was encouraged by her doctors to abort.  Tons of specialist were there for her birth...much to their surprise she is the most beautiful baby girl.  I'm sure she will have some issues as she gets older, but this special baby girl who was supposed to live maybe a few hours is now 4 months old and her young parents love her to pieces.

The Bride and Groom chose orange and pink as their wedding colors and will be using Gerber daisies in their bouquets.  We made the cute little one 2 flowers - one for the wedding and one for the bridal shower. :)

Do you have a wedding coming up?  Do your bridesmaids or flower girls need some Redwood Ranches accessories?  We'd love to help you out!

Our Little Princesses

We got to have a photoshoot last week courtesy of Sarah at Sarah Pope Photography and Kurt at Captured View Photography. Despite trying to get 3 little girls to look in the same direction at the same time we had a lot of fun! These cute little ones are the ones who motivate us here at Redwood Ranches. We love being Stay-at-home Moms!

I wanted to take a minute and let you know almost every item you see on our website is available for purchase.

If you find something you'd like to purchase or inquire about please leave a comment on the blog with:
1. What item you'd like to purchase, and
2. Contact Information.

If you'd like something, but can't find the right color, PLEASE let us know. We do custom orders all the time.
For those locally in the San Lorenzo Valley we'd be happy to meet you somewhere and have you look through our stock.
For those outside the area we accept payment via PayPal and can usually ship in 1-2 days.
Lastly, for those who haven't "Liked" us on Facebook - Do it!  We're getting closer to our 100 Fan Giveaway!
